The Mission of the North Carolina Religious Coalition for Marriage Equality
The mission of the North Carolina Religious Coalition for Marriage Equality (NCRC4ME) is to build the capacity of religious leaders and communities of faith in North Carolina to advocate for marriage equality for same sex couples and full human rights for members of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities in North Carolina.  An integral aspect of the work toward full equality for the LGBT community involves fully engaging the hearts and voices of religious leaders and communities of faith.

The picture at the top of this website is from the first annual NCRC4ME Lobby Day held in March, 2005.  For the first time in North Carolina's history, NCRC4ME organized a statewide lobby day for LGBT-affirming people of faith and religious leaders in opposition to the discriminatory marriage amendment.

We are a people of faith who believe in the dignity and equal rights of all human beings. We are concerned with the way religious conservatives have claimed a monopoly on the “voice of God” and are working to offer a different voice—one of inclusion and equality rooted firmly in our diverse faith traditions. Please join us as we build this work together. Be sure to stay informed by joining our list serv, which you can do by clicking on the link to the left.

Stay tuned for more information, updates and resources as we develop our web presence!
